Barnwell County is located in the southern portion of South Carolina’s Midlands. The county is conveniently situated near several major cities in both South Carolina and Georgia. The city of Barnwell, the county seat, is just 65 miles from the state capital of Columbia, 95 and 90 miles, respectively, from the historic coastal cities of Charleston, South Carolina and Savannah, Georgia, and 45 miles from Augusta, Georgia, home of the Masters golf tournament.

Barnwell is a small county with large advantages for its 23,478 congenial and caring citizens.
