Lee County is located in the upper Pee Dee area of South Carolina. Interstate 20 runs through the middle of Lee County. We are 50 miles from Columbia and about 100 miles from Myrtle Beach. We are the largest cotton producing county and the home of the State Cotton Museum. We have received national attention for being the “Home of the Lizard Man”. Lee County was founded in 1902 and we are celebrating our 100th anniversary in February 2002.
