Marion County is a part of the region known as the Pee Dee Region. We are located 32 miles from the heart of Myrtle Beach. Marion is known to many tourists as "that pretty little town on the way to the beach". Marion is surrounded by both the Big Pee Dee and the Little Pee Dee Rivers. So water sports and fishing are enjoyed throughout the county.

Marion is named for General Francis Marion, the Revolutionary War hero.
