Orangeburg County is located in the heart of the Midlands of South Carolina. It is world renowned for its black water river, the Edisto, the beautiful Edisto Memorial Gardens, the bountiful fishing on the Santee-Cooper Lakes, and the numerous championship golf courses.

Orangeburg County is centrally located between the capitol city Columbia (40 miles) and the historic city of Charleston (60 miles).

Second largest county (by area) in the state.

Some 118 projects will be completed in Orangeburg County within the next 4 years thanks to the 1-cent capitol project sales tax referendum approved in 1998. These projects (better roads, water/sewer, renovation of civic buildings, addition of recreation facilities, to name a few) will benefit every citizen of the county in some way upon completion.
