Judge Dana A. Morris

Judge Morris was born in 1957 in Naples, Italy. His parents are the late Edward A. Morris and Pearle Ray Morris. Judge Morris has two children, both of whom are now attending college.

He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Carolina in 1979, majoring in History and Anthropology. While attending the University of South Carolina, Judge Morris served as President of his fraternity and as a student senator.

Judge Morris received his Juris Doctorate degree in 1983 from the University of South Carolina Law School. While attending the University of South Carolina Law School Judge Morris was a member of the Moot Court Bar.

Judge Morris entered private practice after law school and joined the firm of Savage, Royall and Sheheen in 1983. As an attorney, he was a general practitioner concentrating his practice in the area of trial litigation in all courts with a heavy emphasis on family law. Judge Morris also served as the managing partner of his law firm until his election to the position of Family Court Judge for the Fifth Judicial Circuit in February, 2008.

While living in Camden, Judge Morris served as the Kershaw County School Board Chairman, Chairman of the Santee Lynch's Council on Governments, Chairman of the Governor's Youth Council of the Fifth Judicial Circuit and President of the Kershaw County Chamber of Commerce, Kershaw County United Way and Camden Jaycees.

Judge Morris has been a member of the South Carolina Bar Association and Kershaw County Bar Association. Judge Morris is an avid cyclist, diver, backpacker, and woodworker. He is a member of Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church.
