The Judicial Automation Project is integrating technology into all levels of court from the Supreme Court to the Summary Courts. The technology initiatives and projects are being developed and performed in a phased, building block approach over seven to ten years. The effort was initiated with the development of the SCJD Strategic Technology Plan by BearingPoint (formerly KPMG Consulting) in 2000. Note that the plan discusses the modernization efforts to occur over a five year timeframe; however, due to the recent economic conditions since 2000, the efforts are now being developed over a longer timeframe.
