Biography
Judge Kelly Baker Nobles was born in Newberry
County on April 5, 1964. She is the daughter of Everrette H. and Mary
Linda Baker also of Newberry. Judge Nobles received her primary education
at Newberry Academy and later at Newberry High School. She is a 1987
graduate of Midlands Technical College where she earned an Associate Degree in
Legal Assisting. Judge Nobles was employed several years as a paralegal
with a Newberry County law firm prior to joining the Probate Court in
1989. She served six years under the Honorable Margaret H. Schumpert as
Clerk of the Probate Court. Upon retirement of Judge Schumpert, she was
appointed as Interim Probate Judge by Governor Beasley on October 9, 1997.
Thereafter, on November, 1997, Judge Nobles was elected to a four-year term as
Probate Judge for Newberry County.
She is married to Michael Nobles of Newberry,
South Carolina and they are the proud parents of Kaitlyn Elizabeth and William
Samuel.
Judge Nobles is an active member of Smyrna
Presbyterian Church in Newberry, South Carolina. In addition, she is a
member of several professional organizations, namely, the South Carolina
Association of Probate Judges, the National College of Probate Judges as well as
the Newberry Chapter of the Business and Professional Women's Club.
