Biography
Rudell Moore Gamble is the first African-American female elected in the State of South Carolina to the office of Judge of Probate. Prior to her appointment by Governor Carroll Campbell in 1988, she was employed by Probate Court on September 24, 1974 and served from 1976 to 1988 as the Associated Judge of Probate. Judge Gamble was elected as Probate Judge on November 7, 1988.
Judge Gamble received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts from Morris College, Sumter, South Carolina and she is presently pursuing a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling at Webster University. She is a member of Boy Scouts of America Troop #260, Williamsburg County Branch of NAACP Executive Committee member, received Williamsburg County recognition awards: 1987, 1989, 1993, and 2001, South Carolina Probate Judge Association, National College of Probate Judges 1989, Institute of Government for County Officials 1997, Graduate of Williamsburg County Leadership 2002, South Carolina Voter Education Project 2003, Rockhurst University Continuing Education Center, Inc., and Notary Public for South Carolina.
