The Supreme Court of South Carolina
ORDER
I find that clarification is needed regarding the duties and responsibilities imposed upon the clerks of court for the collection of child support or alimony payments through their offices.
NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to the provisions of Section 4, Article V, South Carolina Constitution,
IT IS ORDERED that the clerks of court may not be required to prepare or attend to the service of any documents relating to the collection of incidental items which relate to child support or alimony or the enforcement of support obligations. Such matters include, but are not limited to, attorneys fees, mortgage payments, insurance premiums, medical, and dental bills.
