The Honorable Mandy W. Kimmons was born in Greensboro, North Carolina. She attended the University of South Carolina. Judge Kimmons graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Spanish from the University of South Carolina, where she was named Outstanding Senior in Political Science Magna Cum Laude.

After college, she participated in a language immersion program at La Academía Falcón in Guanajuato, Mexico. In 2008. Judge Kimmons received her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law. 

Following law school, Judge Kimmons began her professional career as an Assistant Solicitor at the First Circuit Solicitor’s Office, where she prosecuted a variety of cases as the manager of the Juvenile Division for Orangeburg and Calhoun. Judge Kimmons is a certified family court mediator, who in 2015 opened her own law firm, Mandy W. Kimmons, Attorney at Law, LLC, practicing family and criminal law. She additionally served as a Guardian ad Litem.

Judge Kimmons is a former member of the South Carolina Legislature, serving in the House of Representatives from 2018 until 2021. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.  In her free time, Judge Kimmons enjoys horseback riding, boating, hunting and being outdoors.

Judge Kimmons was elected by the South Carolina Legislature as a Family Court Judge, 1st Judicial Circuit, Seat Three, on February 8, 2023.
