Judge George M. McFaddin, Jr.

George M. McFaddin, Jr., was born in Sumter, SC, in 1954. Judge McFaddin lives in the rural Salem Black River community (near Sardinia) of eastern Sumter County where he grew up. He is married to Cindy Johnston of Denmark, SC. They have two daughters, Megan and Cassie.

He received these degrees from the University of South Carolina: B.A., 1978; M.P.A., 1979; J.D., 1985. He was a law clerk to The Honorable Rodney A. Peeples. In 2002 he was elected to the Family Court of the Third Judicial Circuit.

Judge McFaddin is an elder of Salem Black River Presbyterian Church.

While at USC Judge McFaddin served as a page, assistant chief page, and chief page at the SC House of Representatives. His various jobs have included tobacco farm laborer, golf course maintenance, apprentice embalmer/funeral director, firefighter, EMT, janitor and chemical plant laborer. His personal interests are reading, collecting Indian artifacts, history (emphasis on the Vietnam War and the War Between the States), and Scottish heritage activities.
