Judge Jeffrey M. Tzerman was born in New York City, New York. His parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Marvin and Sally Tzerman.

He attended the public schools of Neptune, New Jersey and received a bachelor of arts degree in English in 1978 from the University of South Carolina. He attended the University of South Carolina School of Law, Columbia, South Carolina, receiving his doctorate in 1981. That same year, he was admitted to practice law in South Carolina. He is admitted to practice in all South Carolina Courts, the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina, and the United States Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.

After completing law school, Judge Tzerman was in private practice and he has had an office in Camden, South Carolina, since 1984, where he continues the practice of law.

Judge Tzerman was appointed by the Governor of South Carolina to the position of the Kershaw County Master-in-Equity in April, 2000. He has served continuously in this position since that time.

Judge Tzerman is married to Mitzi G. Tzerman.
