This is an attorney disciplinary matter in which the Court imposed a public reprimand.

26433 - In the Matter of Horry County Magistrate Monte L. Harrelson

This is a judicial disciplinary matter in which the Court issued a public reprimand.

26435 - In the Matter of Former Tega Cay Municipal Court Judge Deborah Ann Koulpasis

This is a judicial disciplinary matter in which the Court issued a public reprimand.

26436 - Lowry v. State

In this case, the PCR court found that a supplemental jury charge on felony murder did not violate the defendant’s due process rights, and therefore, that defense counsel was not ineffective in failing to object to the charge. This Court granted certiorari and reverses the PCR court’s decision, finding that the jury charge unconstitutionally shifted the burden of proof for malice in the defendant’s murder conviction.

This is a disciplinary matter in which the Court disbarred a lawyer.

26438 - Lorenzen v. State

We reverse the PCR judge's order granting Lorenzen relief based on the cumulative effect of his counsel's alleged trial errors.

26439 - In the Matter of Former Sumter County Master-in-Equity Linwood S. Evans, Jr.

This is a judicial disciplinary opinion in which the Court imposed a public reprimand.

26440 - In the Matter of Harry Clayton DePew

This is an attorney disciplinary opinion in which the Court imposed a nine month suspension.

26442 - State v. Stanko

Summary-in this case, the Court upholds the Petitioner’s conviction and sentence.

26443 - Fields v. J. Haynes Waters Builders, Inc.

This is a direct appeal in a civil case arising out of the allegedly defective construction of a residence, and the case raises questions regarding the admission and exclusion of expert testimony, the admission of evidence, and jury charges.

This is an order amending Rule 403(g), SCACR.
ORDER - In the Matter of William Grayson Ervin, Respondent
This order places William Grayson Ervin on interim suspension based on the fact that he has been charged with a serious crime.
ORDER - In the Matter of Saint George and Cottageville Municipal Court Judge Michael Evans, Respondent
This order suspends Cottageville and Saint George Municipal Court Judge Michael Evans until further order of the Court.
ORDER - In the Matter of Marvin Lee Robertson, Jr., Respondent
This order places Marvin Lee Robertson, Jr. on interim suspension and appoints Robert C. Byrd to protect the interests of Mr. Robertson's clients.
2-27-2008 - Opinions

26444 - State v. Dingle

Dingle appeals from the circuit court's decision to resentence him upon remand instead of granting him a new trial. We affirm as modified.

26445 - American General Financial v. Brown

In this foreclosure action, the Court reversed the Master-in-Equity’s decision to deny a request for a deficiency judgment.
