Statewide
Court Case Management System Goes Live in Pickens County
|
On Monday, June 14, 2004, the Circuit Court of Pickens County went live with the statewide court case management system. Now, the whole 13th Judicial Circuit (Pickens County Circuit and Magistrate Courts and Greenville County Circuit and Magistrate Courts) is online with this new statewide court case management system.
The implementation in Pickens County
will serve as a model for the other rural counties across the state. The extensive
time and effort put into the data conversion, system configuration, and training
resulted in a very smooth transition to the new system. As part of the collaboration
of the overall technology initiatives by the South Carolina Judicial Department
(SCJD), this Pickens court system is being hosted on the AS400 system in Greenville
County. The public
index (case records search) is available on the internet from both the Pickens
County website.
At the end of the day on Monday, June 14, 2004, Chief Justice Toal held a media
conference that included Pickens County Council, Pickens County Administration,
Pickens County Bar, judges, clerks, judicial personnel, and upstate media. During
this press conference, Chief Justice Toal summarized the initiative and praised
Pickens County for their leadership, work ethic, and "can do" attitude.
The Pickens County Council presented Chief Justice Toal with a plaque thanking
her for the efforts of SCJD and challenging the other counties in the state
to step forward to take part in the SCJD technology initiatives. Pictures following
the media conference are below.
