This Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, the Supreme Court, in conjunction with the SC Bar Law Related Educated Division, is hosting the first SC Supreme Court Institute for high school teachers.  It is modeled on a similar program that the Wisconsin Supreme Court has, as well as the United States Supreme Court. 

The Supreme Court Institute is a professional development program opportunity for secondary teachers that is about the South Carolina Court system, and focuses on the South Carolina Supreme Court. Learn how to bring South Carolina courts and the law to life for your students while interacting with educators, attorneys, judges, and South Carolina Supreme Court justices. This is a two and a half day conference that will give 24 public and private secondary social studies teachers new and interactive tools to teach about the South Carolina Supreme Court. The institute includes a visit to the South Carolina Supreme Court to hear oral arguments, and an opportunity to speak with the justices afterward.
