Judge H. Steven DeBerry, IV was born in Florence, South Carolina in 1980.  He is the son of the late H. Steven DeBerry, III and Martha Anne DeBerry.  He is married to Jessica White DeBerry and they have two children. 

Judge DeBerry is a lifelong resident of Florence County.  He graduated high school from James F. Byrnes Academy, and later graduated from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina.  He then graduated as a Juris Doctor from the Appalachian School of Law in Virginia.  He was admitted to practice law in the State of South Carolina and the Federal District Court for South Carolina in 2006.

Following Law School Judge DeBerry clerked for the Honorable R. Ferrell Cothran, Jr. in Manning, South Carolina.  He then worked as an Assistant Solicitor in the Twelfth Judicial Circuit until 2011.  At that time Judge DeBerry became a solo practitioner by opening the DeBerry Law Firm in Florence, South Carolina, where engaged in the general practice of law until his election to the Circuit Court Bench on February 3, 2021.

Judge DeBerry served as a member and Vice Chairman of the Florence County Council.  He was elected for this position in November 2013 and re-elected in November of 2017.  He remained on Florence County Council until he resigned before taking the Oath of Office as South Carolina Circuit Court Judge, At-Large Seat 12.
