Judge Wayne M. Creech was born and raised in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. His parents are the late Charlie B. Creech and Margie Morris Creech.
He attended public school in Moncks Corner and is a 1969 Berkeley High School Graduate. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University Of South Carolina in 1973 and his Doctorate Degree from the University of South Carolina School Of Law in 1976. In law school, he was a member of the Order of Wig and Robe.
After graduation, Judge Creech came back to Moncks Corner as an associate in the law office of H. Norman West, Sr. In July of 1977, he went to work for the law firm of Dennis and Dennis. In November of 1981, he co-founded the firm of Watson and Creech, which later expanded to Watson, Creech, Tiencken and West. He served as town attorney for Moncks Corner from 1981 through 1987. From March of 1987 through September of 1988, Judge Creech was a sole practitioner.
Judge Creech was elected by the South Carolina General Assembly to the position of Berkeley County Resident Family Court Judge for the Ninth Judicial Circuit in April 1988. He came on the bench in October 1988 and has served continuously since.
Judge Creech is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association and the Berkeley County Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in all South Carolina courts and the United States District Court.
Judge Creech is an active member of Freedom Church of Moncks Corner, where he is a community group leader. He is married to the former Annette Cook of Lake City, a registered nurse. They have four children and three grandchildren.
