28197 - The State v. Randy Collins
We granted the State's petition for a writ of certiorari to review the decision of the court of appeals in State v. Collins, 435 S.C. 31, 864 S.E.2d 914 (Ct. App. 2021), which held Collins's statement to law enforcement was involuntary and inadmissible due to law enforcement's false assurances that anything he said would remain confidential. We affirm as modified.4-10-2024 - Opinions
28198 - Dale Brooks v. Benore Logistics System, Inc.
The Court affirms as modified the decision of the court of appeals, finding that (1) in order to establish a work-related repetitive trauma injury under section 42-1-172 of the South Carolina Code, a workers' compensation claimant must show both that his or her job is repetitive, and that the repetitive work activities caused the injury, and (2) the claimant here established both of those elements as a matter of law.4-24-2024 - Opinions
This case presents the question of whether filing a notice of intent to appeal in the circuit court's electronic filing system constitutes proper service under Rule 262(c)(3), SCACR. We resolve this question by issuing an amended order under Rule 262, SCACR, thereby authorizing service of a notice of appeal through the e-filing system. We remand to the court of appeals for consideration of the merits.
