The SC Court Interpreter Certification Program Announces
Upcoming Sessions in Charleston

The SC Court Interpreter Certification Program will be holding two workshops in Charleston in February and March, to offer anyone interested in becoming certified the opportunity to prepare for the Written and Oral Examinations. Our third Phase I Orientation for interpreters of the Spanish Language is being held on February 16th and 17th.

For the first time, we are very excited to offer a Language-neutral Phase I Orientation. We are encouraging interpreters of all languages to attend. This will be held on March 1st and 2nd. Attendance at either session qualifies participants to register for the Phase II Written Examination to be held March 29, 2008. Those who pass the Phase II Written Examination are then qualified to sit for the Phase III Oral Examination (Spanish).

The Phase I Orientation sessions will be held in the Beatty Center, Wachovia Auditorium on the College of Charleston campus. For more information on court interpreting in South Carolina, visit http://www.judicial.state.sc.us/courtreporter/HowtoBecomeCourtInterpreter.cfm.
