The Court granted certiorari to review the court of appeals' decision to affirm the trial court's qualification of a forensic interviewer as an expert in child sexual abuse characteristics and behavior.

Elias James Walker pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Walker appealed the trial court's order denying him parole eligibility as a domestic violence victim under section 16-25-90. Walker's appeal was transferred to this court pursuant to South Carolina Appellate Court Rule 204(b).

The Court granted the State's petition for a writ of certiorari to review the court of appeals' decision to remand Respondent's case to the circuit court to conduct a full analysis as required under Rule 404(b) of the South Carolina Rules of Evidence.
